Welcome
The Bahá’í Faith is the youngest of the world’s independent religions. Bahá’ís live in 235 countries and territories throughout the world. We come from over 2100 ethnic, racial, and tribal groups and number some five million worldwide. Founded in Iran in 1844, the Bahá’í Faith was introduced to Canada in 1898. There are now some 30,000 Canadian Bahá’ís living in local communities spread throughout every province and territory. For more than a century, Bahá’ís in Canada and around the world have been working to eliminate prejudice of all kinds, contributing to a new model of global society that is characterized by unity and harmony, justice and peace.
Bahá’ís, along with their friends and neighbours are involved in a series of initiatives that include the education of children, the empowerment of young people and programs to assist in the development of our spiritual and moral capacities in order to be of greater service to humanity.
In Kelowna we hold our meetings and events in rented public spaces or in our homes. Inquiries and seekers are welcome. The best way to get to know the Bahá’ís in Kelowna and to investigate the Faith is to contact us.

Principles of the Bahá'í FaithBahá’í beliefs address such essential themes as the oneness of God and religion, the oneness of humanity and freedom from prejudice, the inherent nobility of the human being, the progressive revelation of religious truth, the development of spiritual qualities, the integration of worship and service, the fundamental equality between men and women, the harmony between religion and science, the centrality of justice to all human endeavour, the importance of education, and the dynamics of the relationships that are to bind together individuals, communities, and institutions as humanity advances towards its collective maturity.
